Plant a Tree

Planting one or a few trees on your property can not only have a good impact on the environment, but they can also provide shade in the summer, fun places to play in the summer, and can have many other uses.

Additionally, you can make this even more fun for you and/or your family by planting a fruit tree. Although it usually takes a lot of time for fruit trees to mature to where they can produce fruit, watching them grow can be fun as well! Before planting a tree or making any other modification to your property make sure that the modification is both in line with any homeowner’s association and to consult a professional to ensure that the tree is not planted in an area where it could later damage the property.

Volunteer

Volunteering is another wonderful way to help the environment. There are many amazing ways to start doing this, including building a community garden, hosting/joining a cleanup (on a road, river, etc.), helping at an animal shelter, and more!

Volunteering is also a fantastic way to meet new people and make new friends or spend time with your family!

Recycle

Recycling is another small thing that you can do to help the environment. Many places already have marked recycling bins which makes it super easy to start. Also, some materials including glass, metal, and aluminum can be recycled infinitely compared to plastic which can only be recycled a few times before it is discarded. Additionally, trying to use reuseable containers as much as possible is also helpful to the environment.
